Tarek El Moussa seeks spousal support from Christina

Ohio fans of one of HGTV's most popular shows, Flip or Flop, have no doubt heard of the impending divorce between the two stars, Tarek and Christina El Moussa. What those fans may not know, however, is that Tarek is the one seeking spousal support. In most divorce proceedings, it is the wife requesting the spousal support from the husband. That leaves people wondering why Tarek might be making this move.

Unclear divorce agreements can lead to subsequent problems

Ohio couples who have decided to divorce have many decisions to make, and most of them come down to money. The division of assets and other financial decisions can get confusing if there is no clear arrangement made at the outset. A state senator re-elected in another jurisdiction chose not to be sworn in so that he could be nominated by the General Assembly for Chief State Auditor. It turns out he is facing his own financial drawbacks that he says are a result of misunderstandings between his ex-wife and him regarding the terms of their divorce settlement.

Do not let a divorce ruin credit scores

There are so many factors to consider when an Ohio marriage ends. Often, a divorce will force the parties to hammer out the details regarding asset division, child custody/support and new living arrangements, just to name a few. One topic that may be overlooked, at least to begin with, is how a divorce may affect the credit of the parties.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard still fuming after divorce

Many Ohio residents love to read anything they can about their favorite entertainment or athletic celebrities. Whether it is about marriage or divorce, it all seems to be important and makes us feel like we actually know these people we have come to regard in such high esteem. The divorce between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has been especially contentious and has their fans wondering what will be the final outcome.

Who decides the value of assets in a high-asset divorce?

Divorce is a complex, often messy process. Emotions run high. Each of the former spouses wants to know that he or she is receiving a fair portion of the marital assets. In some cases, however, strong emotions lead to bad behavior. One spouse might attempt to hide assets. Alternatively one spouse could attempt to seek more in the divorce than they are entitled to. In any situation where the value and division of assets are contested, working with an experienced Ohio divorce attorney is critical. An experienced divorce attorney can help ensure the division of assets is fair and agreeable for everyone.
